מריה מונטסורי לא חינכה את בנה בשיטה המונטסורית מכיוון שבנה לא גר איתה בגלל לחצים משפחתיים מריו {הבן של מריה} נשלח לגור עם משפחתה של מריה אך הוא לא גר איתה, אבל היא הייתה מבקרת אותו ורואה אותו. אחרי שמריו גדל הוא עבר לגור עם מריה,הוא טייל איתה בכל העולם…
