Who is Maria Montessori?
Doctor Maria Montessori was the first woman in Italy to receive a doctor's degree.
Maria developed the Montessori method, at the center of the method is the child and the method emphasizes a broad and inclusive education that respects the child as a person. The method develops the intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual development of the child.
The method changed the way of thinking about the children.
In the past, the treatment towards the children was unequal and disrespectful.
In the past, children were treated as adults and were made to work hard.
Montessori changed this attitude.
