Information about Montessori institutions:

What will your child learn in Montessori kindergarten?

Most kindergartens prepare students for success in school by simulating the Montessori approach to the learning program. The classes are adapted to the developmental needs of each child, and offer a variety of options to stimulate the children's curiosity and natural intelligence. The program emphasizes the process of discovering and exploring the world through sensory materials.

In classes of several age groups, children progress at different speeds in different areas. Most kindergartens provide two to five years of materials and activities so that each child can work at a pace and level that best suits their individual interests and abilities.

It also allows children to find peers who share their interests. Older children are role models for younger children, and older children gain self-confidence by becoming class leaders - a role they are proud of!

There are objects to be sorted and arranged, beads to be added and removed, letters to be touched and followed, and real dishes to be washed. Children participate in meaningful activities, not just pretend activities, they practice tying shoes and hanging coats.
